Australia's New South Wales Scenery Enhancement Files for MSFS2000 ================================================================== Description: ----------- I have used mainly the Abacus "Airport and Scenery Designer" program (using Manfred Moldenhaur's SCASM compiler). I have compiled more static scenery (aprons, taxiways, buildings, etc...). I have not included too much so as to keep the frame-rate reasonable. This is the first "edition" - more improvements are on their way soon. Keep an eye on the "last updated" field on my web page for the latest files. I have not included some textures for static aircraft and other objects - the complete set are available as jets2.zip. You will also need the Airport & VOD textures which can now be obtained directly from my site on the Internet.(see my hotlinks in separate frame) My files are freely distributable as long as they not modified in any way (including this text) and under no circumstances should anyone be charged for using them. Thanks to Kay & Stuart Reid for the Exclude file: YSBK_exc.bgl Simply put this in the same directory as the other *.bgl files... Installation of the files: ------------------------- 1. The .bgl files have to be placed in the same sub-directory as the normal scenery files called "Bankstown" - eg: FS2000/ Scenery/ Bankstown/ Scenery/(*.bgl) 2. Any the texture files should be unzipped into: Flight Simulator/ Texture/(*.r8, *.bmp) 3. Start your Flight Simulator program and go to the menu "World" and select "Scenery Library". 4. Select OK and a dialogue box will pop up. Press the button marked "Add". 5. In the dialogue box which comes up you will have to add the new path to the .bgl files. I found it helpful to look at how other scenery areas assigned their new files by first selecting "Edit"(*LOOK - BUT DON'T TOUCH ANY OF THESE SETTINGS!*) . Press cancel to go back to the previous requester and select "Add" again. You will then have to give the scenery area a name. Press "OK" again and you will notice it has already made it scenery layer "0001". Click on the button to the right to make the scenery area active. Click OK again to save the changes and reload the scenery areas. 6. When you are finally back at the main Flight Sim window, go to the "World" menu again, but select "Go To Airport". Scroll down and under "FS 6.0 sceneries" you should find the new starting location to go to: If you don't find the airports or have any troubles with displaying them try clicking on the "Enable" button again to disable various areas or you could adjust your "Scenery Compexity" option in the "World" menu. Some of the objects have been designed to only display with "Very Complex" activated, so that those with faster computers can see it all and those who don't can set their complexity to give them a better frame-rate. **NOTE: Don't forget - if you like and use the Ozpack scenery, please contribute to the Flying Doctors at the Ozpack web site: "http://www.ozpack.pcsa.net.au/" Please send me any comments or suggestions you may have, but above all - Have Fun!
