Also, I have not made an FS98 version, but if someone would like to do so and make panels, sounds, etc., I would be more than happy to provide you with any files necessary. --------------------------------- INSTALLATION: ** For FS5, you have to have Flight Sim Flight Shop (FSFS) ** textures.zip <--- Textures (both FS5 & FS6) tiei-fs5.zip <--- FS5-specific files tiei-fs6.zip <--- FS6-specific files Unzip "textures.zip" to your "Texture" directory. If you have FS5, then unzip "tiei-fs5.zip" to the "Pilots" directory. For FS6, unzip "tiei-fs6.zip" to the "Pilots" directory. ---------------------------------- This Twin Ion Engine (TIE) Interceptor is one that has been modified for Earth's purposes. Because the TIE Interceptor does not have any type of landing gear, a hover device has been incorporated. Make sure to turn this device on before landing by pressing the "G" button that is normally used to lower the landing gear. Also, the lasers have been neutralized as to not let the pilot destroy anything or anybody. *** Again, since there is no gear on a TIE Interceptor, a hover device has been incorporated. It is activated by the same button used for lowering the landing gear. If it is on, a white light strip will appear on the lower outside of each side panel. History: TIE Interceptors are the result of the advancements developed for Darth Vader's TIE Advanced x1 Prototype. In general, it is the TIE Fighter with more speed, maneuverability, and firepower. It uses the standard TIE cockpit, drive pod, and wing braces, but the solar panels have been elongated and bent in order to provide extra power. The powerful sublight engines make the TIE Interceptor almost as fast as the Alliance's A-winf fighter; it is faster than any other fighter in production. This starfighter uses an advanced type of ion-stream projector that allows pilots to execute tight turns and rolls. With a shilled pilot flying one of these fine craft, the TIE Interceptor can literally fly circles around X-wing starfighters. The Interceptor has four laser cannons at the end of each solar panel and advanced targeting software that gives the pilot greater fire accuracy even during complex maneuvers. Since the pilot's compartment is the standard TIE compartment, there are two cannon hardpoints that are not used; however, they would be used if the technicians could find room for the extra power generators. Since the fighter has no shields, the pilot relies on superiority of numbers and the ship's maneuverability to survive battles with better armed and armored craft.
