McDonnell Douglas C-17 Globemaster III Panel For FS98 by Paul Schwerdtfeger ----------------------------------------------------------- An FS98 panel of the USAF C-17 Globemaster III. Highly realistic, based on photos from McDonnell Douglas. Designed in 1024x768 mode, will work in 800x600 mode(some loss of clarity). Tested in all modes and on a Monster 3D II card. Features include both 2d and 3Dfx variations of HUD gauges, working MFDs, Moving Map Mode, and Panel switches to operate the MFDs and HUD. This is my first departure from Fighter genre panels, and I must admit that it was much more challenging than I had anticipated. The panel is a very close representation of the C-17 instrument panel. Several modifications had to be made in order to make the panel usable with FS98. I didn't feel there was enough screen room to implement custom radios and auto pilot like many panel designers are doing these days. I hope to be able to add this feature to a future version of the panel. Gauge placement and MFD colors are as close to the actual panel as I could get. I chose not to implement engine start gauges in the upper panel, but again, hope to add this in a future version. NOTE: The HUD gauges ONLY work in true full screen 3Dfx mode. INSTALLATION: Follow these steps to install: This panel uses gauges from other panels I have designed. Respond YES to overwrite existing files when prompted. - Unzip C17PAN98 into a temporary folder - Copy panel.cfg and *.bmp to the \panel folder of the aircraft that you want to use the panel with. - unzip the GAUGES.ZIP file into the ...\flight sim\gauges folder. - Don't forget to remove the files from the temporary folder. PANEL INSTRUCTIONS: 3: Toggle Systems Status diplay over the left MFD. 4: Toggle Engine Gauges to reveal the map for Map Mode. 5: Toggle HSI Gauge overthe right MFD. 6: Toggle 3Dfx HUD gauges. 7: Toggle 2D HUD gauges. MAP MODE: Press 4 to turn off Engines display. This will leave a hole in the right MFD. Make sure the HSI display is off also. Drag the map (after resizing) down to the Right MFD and it will show up through the display. SWITCH INSTRUCTIONS: There are 5 switches/buttons on the panel.
