HISTORY:

Air California was founded in 1967 to operate in-state flights departuring from
Organe County (SNA) to all the state of CA. Their fisrt jets came by late 60's/eraly 70's.
By 1981, Air california had its name shortened to Air Cal, due to its new aquisition
by new ownners. The airline flew until 1987, when the big bang of maergers and bankrupticies
of the 80's forced OC to be merged into American Airlines.

Air California Electras were used until 1980, when for the following year of 1981,
the airpor of Lake Tahoe (TVL, before served only by the Elctras) would be finnaly
opened for big jets.
