Their 1st fleet planes were the EMB-110 Bandeirante, used until 1988. Today, RIO-SUL is the biggest and the best commuter airline of Brazil. With a young fleet of Boeing 737-500, Fokker 50 (del.1992) EMB-120 Brasilia (del.1988) and the new ERJ-EMB-145 jet (del.early 1998) it covers a network of more than 30 cities. In the summer, most of the currently 13 units of the 737-500 make charter flights to the beaches of the NE of Brazil. The Piper navajo, was operated from 1976 to 1981, making the first charter flights of RIO-SUL, and serving smaller cities.
