CONCORDE PANEL For Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 Designed by Rob Thorne. Conpn398.zip Version 1.3 Oct-Nov 97 Conpn498.zip Version 1.4 Sep-Oct 98 Note: This panel along with a Concorde aircraft as a complete package can be found at the same Internet site as this panel software, File name Contr498.zip Please read all of this Conpn498 text file, as it includes important information on installing and using the panel. What's Included: 1 main folder : Conpn498 - containing: 1 Conpn498.txt : The file you are reading now 1 GPSreadme.txt : How to use the GPS gauge 1 Conpn498.doc : Shows Instrument panel 1 conpn498.jpg : Picture - you can delete this 1 conpn498.bmp : Picture - you can delete this 41 .gau files 1 folder : panel System Requirements: Microsoft Windows 95 Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 Installation: 1 - Copy and Paste (or) Drag and Drop the 41 files with the .gau extensions into your Flight Sim 98\Gauges folder. 2 - Decide which aircraft you would like to use, then open that aicraft folder. For example, if you want to use the panel with the Boeing 737-400 aircraft, double click your Flt-Sim98 folder then double click the Aircraft folder, you will then see all of the aircraft you have available. Double click the B737_400 folder, then rename the panel folder 'or-panel', so that you can quickly revert back to the original panel when you require. Now that you have renamed that folder, copy and paste (or) drag and drop the new panel folder into the B737_400 folder. That's it, yes it's that simple. Now just close all of the folders and start Flight Simulator 98 as normal. Now when you select the Boeing 737-400 aircraft you will see the concorde panel. If you want to use the panel with other aircraft simply move it to that aircraft after renaming the original panel folder to 'or-panel' and then you can simply restore the original panel by just swopping the panel folder names. Display: This panel is best used in FULL SCREEN mode, at a resolution of 800 x 600 as it will distort in lower or higher resolutions. I use a 3D STB AGP video card and have found that it requires that Filture Texturemaps need to be turned off, also with this card do not select 8 Bit Image Textures, as it will lock-up. See the Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 ReadMe.txt file for more information on this suject. Using the panel properly: Click on Options, select Preferences then click on the Instrument Tab, on this menu make sure that the Button's next to: 'Allow for non-rectangular panel windows', and also: 'Allow panel to resize with parent window', ARE BOTH LIT and show a TICK on them. The Button below them: 'Display indicated airspeed', SHOULD NOT BE LIT for this panel or show a tick on it. Operation of windows: Window 1 : Compass. Window 2 : Always on as this is part of the instrument panel. Window 3 : Always on as this is part of the instrument panel. Window 4 : Radio panel, can be Opened and Closed by the switch to the right of the Auto-pilot controls. Problem solving: Occasionly the panel can get missaligned, e.g. you click on a gauge but move the screen by accident, to reslove this problem if you can not drag it back into the correct place, select another aircraft then reselect Concorde again and the panel will be displayed correctly. Also note that if you use Save Flight with this panel it will not be shown correctly when you start it as a Default flight, you will need select another aircraft then reselect the plane again. Note: Because of the number of windows involved in the panel, you will find that it takes quite a long time for menus to appear, and they can also be slow, this is normal so please just be patient. When flying you will find that frame rates should be o.k. Keep the original Conpn498.zip file safe in case you need to re-install it at a later date.
