HISTORY:

Trans Brasil is the 3rd largest Brazilian carrier. It was founded in 1963 as Sadia
Airlines in the state of SC. The first planes were the Handley Page - Dart Herald
which operated up to 1974. By 1970, the still named Sadia Airlines took delivery
of their 1st jets, which were the BAC 1-11-500, co-named as "Super Jet 500" or populary
known as the "Big Jet" or "Jatao" (in portuguese). The Super Jet 500 received the
colorful livery of Trans Brasil in 1972, when Sadia Airlines became Trans Brasil Airlines.
Up to 1974, some more BAC's were added to the fleet, and very well used until being
retired in 1978, in favour of the brand new 727-100.

For my dear Brazilian folks: Este aviao e uma lembranca dos bons tempos em que
qualquer mudanca na aviacao brasileira era sentida de perto pelo publico. Voar
naqueles idos, tinha um tom de poesia, de magia. O amor com que o publico tratava e
conhecia os avioes era imenso! E cada apresentacao de aeronave diferente era um show.
Os Jatoes, os Electras (tao longevos e queridos nossos) emfim, tudo nosso. Portanto,
quero deixar meu agradecimento, aos que fizeram o download deste aviao, e que curtem
a historia antiga dos ceus, como eu. Um grande abraco para todos, Viva nossas linhas
