Sydney's Proposed 2nd Airport at Badgerys Creek Scenery Files for MSFS ====================================================================== Description: ----------- These files have been compiled with the aid of the Australian Government Transport and Regional Development Preliminary Airport Master Plans Option "C"(phew!!). I have used solely the new 2.10 version of the Airport Scenery Design program (using Manfred Moldenhaur's SCASM compiler). I believe I have compiled a fairly accurate (but still not as accurate as I would like!) representation of the proposal plan and have all runways, taxiways and terminal etc in position and have as well included some static scenery such as planes, other buildings, trees, etc. I have included some textures for the static aircraft and other objects - the complete set are available as jets2.zip. You may also need the ASD, Airport & VOD textures which can be obtained from just about any flight sim site on the Internet. (see the hotlinks on my web page: http://www.zeta.org.au/~mfdicko ) My files are freely distributable as long as they not modified in any way (including this text) and under no circumstances should anyone be charged for using them. Installation of the files: ------------------------- 1. The .bgl files should be placed in a sub-directory called "Scenery", within a new Scenery/ sub directory called "Badgerys" - eg: Flight Simulator/ Scenery/ Badgerys/ Scenery/(*.bgl) 2. All the texture files should be unzipped into: Flight Simulator/ Texture/(*.r8 and *.oav) 3. Start your Flight Simulator program and go to the menu "World" and select "Scenery Library". You will get a warning about not touching the settings unless you know what you are doing - this might be a good time to have a look at the help file anyway. 4. When you are confident that you know what you are doing, select OK and a dialogue box will pop up which looks a little confusing. Press the button marked "Files". 5. In the next dialogue box which comes up you will have to add a link to the new area's .bgl files. I found it helpful to look at how other scenery areas assigned their new files by first selecting "Edit"(*LOOK - BUT DON'T TOUCH ANY OF THESE SETTINGS!*) . Press cancel to go back to the previous requester and select "Add". You then have to type in the path to point to the sub-directory you have created for the new files. Press the TAB Key and give the scenery area a name. Press TAB again and select "Local" for the area type, make it scenery layer "0001" and click on the button to the right to make the scenery area active. Click OK and then OK again to save the changes and reload the scenery areas. 6. When you are finally back at the main Flight Sim window, go to the "World" menu again, but select "Go To Airport". Scroll down and under eg:- "Badgerys" and "Badgerys Creek International" you should find the new airport to go to! If you don't find the airports or have any troubles with displaying them try clicking on the "Enable" button again to disable various areas or you could adjust your "Scenery Compexity" option in the "World" menu. Some of the objects have been designed to only display with "Very Complex" activated, so that those with faster computers can see it all and those who don't can set their complexity to give them a better frame-rate. Please send me any comments or suggestions you may have, but above all - Have Fun! (pun intended!)^ Mark Dickinson.
