Copyright and Legal junk. ------------------------------ URL Catcher is Copyrighted © (c) 1995 by WinWin Solutions URL Catcher is the property of WinWin Solutions. What Is URL Catcher? ------------------------------ URL Catcher is designed to collect URL's, including mail addresses, on the fly - in one step. 3. How does it work? ------------------------------ Using the Edit|Copy function of your editor, news reader, e-mail reader, Web browser, spreadsheet, etc., copy the URL or address you want to save into the clipboard. (Note: Ctrl-Ins or Ctrl-C will also work in most cases, even if there is not a specific copy function. THAT'S IT! Note: You can copy whole blocks of text, URL Catcher will attempt to isolate the URL's. URL Catcher collects the URL's in a list box until you're ready to save them to file. You can change descriptions on the URL, and delete URL's you decide not to keep before saving to file. To save to file click on the Save button. If you have not selected a file to save to, you will be prompted to do so. URL Catcher will put a separator in the file before each Save. The file produced is in HTML format, so you can open it with your favorite Web Browser and cruise away! 4. Installation. ------------------------------ ú Make a directory for URL Catcher. ú Copy the distribution files to it. ú Create an Icon in Program Manager. (I've personally also added it to my Startup Group.) ú If you do not already have a version of CTL3DV2.DLL, copy this file to the \windows\system directory. 5. Limitations. ------------------------------ URL Catcher only recognizes an URL if it has the characters "://" somewhere in it. URL Catcher only recognizes an Address if it has the character "@" somewhere in it To work around these limitations, you can copy text which you know is an URL or an address to Notepad and add the requisite characters. URL Catcher only recognizes rudimentary HTML formatting and only performs rudimentary HTML formatting. Some fancy formatting may confuse it. URL Catcher has been tested under Windows. 3.1 - 3.11, Windows for Workgroups 3.1 and 3.11 and Windows NT 3.5. It should work fine with Windows '95 but I have not tested it. It WILL NOT work with Windows 3.0 or Previous. 6. Future Features. ------------------------------ If there is enough interest and support (See the Registration Information! :) ) the following features may make it into URL Catcher: ú Better recognition and isolation of URL's and addresses ú HTML File editing ú Specify HTML formatting for saved Files ú Add Headers etc.. to saved files ú Launch a Web Browser directly from URL Catcher ú Read files and isolate URL's from them [1] ú Sort URL's on multiple criteria. (Only Alpha ascending supported now.) [1] This can be done with the current version of URL Catcher by simply copying the whole file to the clipboard. [2] [2] This is also a quick and dirty of way of cleaning up a bookmarks file. URL Catcher ends up removing any extraneous text and sorting the URL's alphabetically. 7. Registration. ------------------------------ 7.1 Why should you register? Being that the distributed version of URL Catcher is full featured, there are really only two reasons. 1. To show your support and appreciation. 2. To ensure further development on URL Catcher. 3. To get Rid of that annoying About Box at start up!
