SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS -- Macintosh with a 68030 or greater processor -- 200K of RAM available to AI5-7 File Checker -- Apple System Software 7.5 or later -- AppleScript HANDLING NOTES After downloading a ".sea.hqx" file on a Macintosh, use StuffIt Expander(R) by Aladdin Systems, Inc. (408-761-6200, http://www.aladdinsys.com/) to access the file's contents. StuffIt Expander is available as a freeware product. To decompress a ".sea" file on a Macintosh, double-click on the ".sea" file. INSTALLATION NOTES AI5-7 File Checker does not require installation. ADDITIONAL NOTES To use AI5-7 File Checker: 1. At the Finder, select one or more Illustrator files. 2. Drag and drop the file(s) onto the AI5-7 File Checker application icon. 3. For each file, click the Add Suffix button to add the version number as a suffix to the file name (e.g., .5.0, .7.0), or click OK to continue. AI5-7 File Checker displays which version of Illustrator a file was saved in, but does not display the version of Illustrator that created the file. For example, if you create an EPS file in Adobe Illustrator 7.0 and then save it in Adobe Illustrator 6.0 format, AI5-7 File Checker will display, "The file was saved as an Adobe Illustrator 6.0 file." AI5-7 File Checker supports files created with Illustrator 5.0 or later for the Macintosh. When you try to use files saved in earlier versions of Illustrator, AI5-7 File Checker returns the message, "The file was not saved as an Adobe Illustrator 5.0, 5.5, 6.0 or 7.0 file." When you try to use files saved in Illustrator for Windows format, AI5-7 File Checker returns the message, "The file is not an artwork file." When you use the Add Suffix feature and a filename is longer than 27 characters, AI5-7 File Checker truncates the original filename so a suffix can be added. After you use the Add Suffix feature, you will need to relink or update those files that had been placed into other documents (e.g., publications created in Adobe PageMaker or Adobe FrameMaker).
