PRODUCT: Adobe(R) Type VERSION: All PLATFORM: Macintosh(R) RELEASED ON: 05/27/98 Adobe Euro Fonts ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/type/mac/all/eurofont.sea.hqx (293K) ftp://ftp-pac.adobe.com/pub/adobe/type/mac/all/eurofont.sea.hqx (293K) Most fonts that are currently in use don't include the character for the Euro, the European Community currency, which will begin use in January 1999. While you will get good results from using new fonts that have Euro characters that were designed especially for them, the three Euro font families in this package provide you with a way to create the Euro character while you continue to use your current fonts with your current operating systems and applications. This package includes the following fonts: -- Euro Sans -- Euro Serif -- Euro Mono Each comes with four styles: Regular, Italic, Bold, and BoldItalic. For each font style, every character in the font, except the Space character, is an identical Euro. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Any version of Adobe Type Manager for Mac OS HANDLING NOTES After downloading a ".sea.hqx" file on a Macintosh, use StuffIt Expander(R) by Aladdin Systems, Inc. (408-761-6200, http://www.aladdinsys.com/) to access the file's contents. StuffIt Expander is available as a freeware product. To decompress a ".sea" file on a Macintosh, double-click on the ".sea" file. INSTALLATION NOTES To install the Adobe Euro Fonts, use Adobe Type Manager. Refer to your Adobe Type Manager User Guide for instructions on installing PostScript Type 1 fonts. ADDITIONAL NOTES Select Euro Sans (without bold or italic) if you want the official Euro symbol. Select Euro Mono if you're using a monospaced (fixed pitch) font, or want a more condensed sans-serif version of the Euro. Select Euro Serif if you want a version that goes with many serif typefaces. When you need the Euro character, go to your application's font menu, choose Euro Sans, Euro Serif, or Euro Mono and then type any letter and the Euro character will appear. Then, go back to your font menu and select your original typeface to continue working. You can also create a Euro character with either of these shortcuts: Shortcut 1: Enter the Euro character once, and copy it to the computer's clipboard. When you need it again, simply paste it in. Shortcut 2: Type any character you want where you want the Euro to appear. Any time after, select that character and use the font menu in your application to apply to one of the Euro fonts.
