Not knowing what to do, they decide to ditch the body in the water, making a pact never to speak of the event again, taking this grim secret to their graves. One year later.. Returning home for the summer, Julie receives a note addressed to her with no post mark or stamp -- "I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER!". From here on in the film is a roller-coaster of terror and suspense, the killer toying with his intented victims. The film is written by the same author that brought us Scream, but adds a few more twists and 'seriousness'. It can be said that it's a more intelligent film than Scream however, having a few plot twists that make you wonder why you hadn't seen them before.
The character development was good, Love portraying her multi-dimensional character well. Love, along with Gellar, were definately the best of the cast, making you wonder if they were filming the scenes, or if a madman was actually loose on the set. Who is the real killer? Is it one of them? If you haven't seen this film, by all means do yourself a favour -- you'll be in suspense, right down the last minute -- literally. All in all, a well rounded horror/suspense/thriller film. Rating: 3/5 |
